Joint Source Channel Coding for Ultra Low Latency Communication

Emerging and future application scenarios increase demand for real-time low-latency video communication with high quality and high resolution videos. Joint Source Channel Coding (JSCC) is one possible and promising approach to satisfy challenging requirements by joint optimization of compression and transmission tasks. New wave of interest to JSCC is observed inspired by recent progress in AI-based compression methods allowing to perform end-to-end optimization of communication system. This talk will give an overview of recent progress of AI-based compression and communication methods using JSCC approach for ultra low-latency communication scenario.
